Automated DNA Sequencing Facility

The department of Molecular Microbiology and Immunology now utilizes a Beckman CEQ 2000 XL Analysis System. The configuration of eight capillary arrays interfaces easily with 96-well plate formats along with single samples. The $10/sample charge is quite competitive.

Beckman (100 rxn.) DICS kits (part no. 608120) can be purchased independently or through the MMI office.

Submitting samples is easy:

• Fill out a Sample Order Form (Schwitalla, M423).
• Place labeled, resuspended sample in a provided rack with order form.
• You will be contacted when samples are done.

Results can be provided in the form of a printed electropherogram or an electronic file. Files can be sent through e-mail, local SLU server, or copied to a diskette. Files can be easily viewed using Chromas or other various programs.
